Anniversary Etiquette:The Etiquette for Gift Buying

June 6^th may be labeled “Doomsday,” but not for this Lassie and her Lad.

I’m loud and proud about David and me celebrating our 3^rdwedding anniversary! It seems like yesterday when we met and began our journey.

In the spirit of tradition, I decided to access an anniversary etiquette gift guide to help me buy the perfect present for my dearest husband. The guide shows what to shop for based on the number of years married. So, what is the gift for the 3^rd year of marital bliss?  Leather.  I don’t suppose David will buy me the red leather Louis Vuitton purse I saw last week while surfing the web when I should have been working?  I don’t even suppose he knows that “leather” is on the list of gift ideas. Maybe that is to my advantage!?

Nevertheless, it is not the material gifts that matter but the spirit of celebrating the gift we gave to each other; the vow of love, hope and survival to fight for each other.

I love this guy and somehow, I’m pretty sure he feels the same way about me.

If you are at all wondering, I’m buying David a new pair of leather gloves to wear when he fixes fences and checks cows or when he feels like playing Cowboys and Indians with me.
